Misal Pav

Ingredients:

Boiled Mixed Pulses - 1 bowl

Chopped onion - 2 nos.

Chopped tomatoes - 2 nos.

Chopped green chilly - 2 nos.

Coconut - a small piece

Oil - 2 tspn

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn

Mixed spice powder or Garam masala - 1 tspn

Red Chilly powder - 1 tspn

Turmeric - 1/4 tspn

Salt - as per taste

Coriander - 1/4 cup

Farsan - 1 cup

Lemon - 1 or 2

Method:

​

  1. Cut 1/2 onion lenghthwise and in a pan add oil and add onion and pieces of coconut to it and saute it till golden brown. (Fry it on a medium flame).

  2. Take it out and cool it and grind it into a smooth paste.

  3. Take a pan and add oil to it. Add half of the finely chopped onion and remaining keep for serving.

  4. Saute for 2 mins. Add Ginger garlic paste and saute.

  5. Add all spice powders and add tomatoes and little salt.

  6. Saute well.

  7. Add chopped green chilly and mix.

  8. Add boiled pulses and little water to adjust the consistency.

  9. Bring to a boil and add finely chopped coriander leaves.

  10. Take a serving bowl and add the misal to it.

  11. Top it with some chopped onions, lemon juice and add some farsan. 

  12. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with pav or bread.
