Ukdiche Chocolate Modak

Preparation Time : 20 Mins

Cooking Time : 15-20 mins

Serves : 4

Ingredients:

 

Rice Flour - 2 cups

Freshly grated coconut - 1 cup

Dark compound chocolate - 1/4 cup

Milk compound chocolate - 1/4 cup

Oil - 1 tspn

Salt - for taste

 

Method:

  1. Dry roast the coconut for 2-3 minutes. Keep aside.

  2. Melt both the chocolates in double boiler or microwave.

  3. Add coconut to the melted chocolate and mix well.

  4. In another pan heat 1 1/2 cups of water.

  5. Add salt and a teaspoon of oil to it.

  6. When the water starts boiling, add rice flour to it. Cover and cook for 2 mins.

  7. Switch off the flame and let it rest for 5-10 mins.

  8. Knead the dough well and use water if required.

  9. Roll out small puris from the dough or you can also make a dent in middle and add filling to it.

  10. Give the shape of modak. (For ref. pls see the video below)

  11. Keep steamer for heating.

  12. Grease the steamer plate with little oil and place modaks on it.

  13. Steam for 15 - 20 minutes.

  14. Remove and serve.

 

NOTE:

While taking water for rice flour, check the flour first. If it is coarse, take the equal quantity of water as the flour. If the flour is fine then check for the recipe measurements.
