Moong Dal Dahi Vada (Upwas Recipe)
Ingredients:

Moong dal - 2 cups soaked for 3 to 4 hrs
Curds - 2 cups
Jeera powder - 1 tspn
Red chilly powder - 1/2 tspn
Green chillies - 4 nos.
Date chutney - 1/2 cup
Salt - to taste
Oil for frying
Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup

Method:

Add green chilies and salt and coarsely grind moong dal using very little water.

Take curds in a bowl and add powdered sugar and a pinch of salt and whisk well.

Heat oil in kadai and drop little amount of dal mixture to the hot oil. Fry all vadas on medium flame.

Take a bowl filled half with water.

Now add the fried vadas in the water in batches. At a time add 5-6 of them. Don't overcrowd the bowl.

Keep them for 1-2 minutes.

Squeeze out all water from them by pressing gently.

Take serving plate and add vadas on it.

Pour some curds on top of them.

Add some dates chutney on top of it.

Sprinkle jeera powder and red chilly powder.

Ready to eat.

NOTE:
​
This recipe is specially for upwas or fasting time. If you want to eat other than fasting time then you can make it more tasty by adding mint coriander chutney and chat masala. Also do top it with some sev and gorge on this lovely chat.
